A photo to video maker turns a still image into an animated video clip using AI. Upload a JPG, PNG, or WebP — up to 10 MB — and MakeThisVid generates an 8-second, 1080p video with audio from your photo as the opening frame.

Photo to Video Maker: Animate Any Image in Seconds

A still photo holds the scene. MakeThisVid puts it in motion. Upload any image — product shot, landscape, portrait, concept art — and our AI animates it into an 8-second video clip with contextual audio. Your photo becomes the first frame. The AI adds realistic motion, atmosphere, and sound. No editing skills needed.

How to Use MakeThisVid

From prompt to downloadable MP4, ready to deploy.

  1. Get credits

    Plans start at $14.99/mo (20 credits). One-time packs start at $9.99 for 5 credits. 1 credit = 720p clip, 2 credits = 1080p clip — same as text-to-video.

  2. Open the Create page and switch to Photo → Video

Go to makethisvid.com/create and select the Photo → Video mode. A drop zone appears alongside the prompt field.

  3. Upload your image

Drop or browse a JPG, PNG, or WebP file (up to 10 MB). The image becomes the first frame of the generated video.

  4. Add a motion prompt (optional but recommended)

Describe the motion you want — "slow camera pull back", "leaves blowing in wind", "product rotating gently on a surface". The more specific, the more intentional the motion.

  5. Generate and download

Click Generate. Most renders complete in 45–90 seconds. Download the MP4 — audio is always included. Commercial use is licensed on every plan.

Your photo is the first frame, and the AI animates from there. The visual identity of the image is preserved — colors, subject, composition — but the AI adds motion and may subtly extend the scene.
Yes. Add a motion prompt describing the movement you want: "slow zoom in", "gentle breeze through the trees", "product pivoting clockwise on a white surface". Specific motion prompts give better results than vague ones.

Yes. Commercial use is included on every plan and credit pack. Use it in ads, client deliverables, or published content.
Yes. The AI can animate photos that include people. Portrait content is handled with standard safety filters — gratuitously explicit content is blocked.
If a render fails for any reason, your credit is refunded automatically. If the motion isn't what you wanted, try adding a more specific motion prompt and regenerate.
